First Trimester Miscarriage Symptoms

- Diarrhea
- Nausea
- Pelvic cramping (may feel like you’re getting your period)
- Unexplained weakness

How does CARE fertility confirms a miscarriage?
We always perform ultrasounds to determine if your baby is present in the womb and has a heartbeat.
In the event of a miscarriage a Doctor might recommend in some cases a dilation and curettage (D&C) to safely remove fetal tissue from the uterus.
CARE fertility has a surgery center accredited by (AAAASF) and our board certified fertility Doctors can perform any procedure that is necessary to ensure your health and safety.

What happens if I’m not going undergoing a miscarriage?
If a Doctor determines you are not undergoing a miscarriage, bleeding and pain could also be signs of:
- Ectopic pregnancy. Most ectopic pregnancies are in the fallopian tubes. They occur in up to 2.5% of all pregnancies. Ectopics pregnancies must be medically treated.
- Subchorionic hemorrhage, or hematoma, is bleeding that happens when the placenta slightly detaches from the wall of the womb. A sac forms in the gap between the two. A large subchorionic hemorrhage may also increase the risk of a miscarriage in the first 20 weeks of pregnancy.

Treatments & Surgeries
If you’re not undergoing a miscarriage a Doctor might prescribe Progesterone to help with your symptoms. They might also recommend ultrasound checks during the remaining of your pregnancy.
If you’re undergoing a miscarriage a Doctor will perform a Dilation and Curettage (D&C). A Laparoscopy might also be necessary when there’s a suspected ectopic pregnancy.
